Centennial Farms introduces the 2008 Corinthian Mares LLC.

Formed in conjunction with prominent Kentucky farm Gainesway, this exciting breeding partnership offers members the opportunity to own a percentage of four broodmares at one of the top farms in Kentucky.

The mares were purchased at the recent Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Three of the mares are currently carrying foals that will be sold as either weanlings or yearlings. The mares will then be bred back to Corinthian in 2009 and those offspring will also sell at public auction.

This partnership has a total capitalization of $825,000, which covers all expenses through the end 2009, including Corinthian’s covering stud fees for the mares.

A five percent ownership investment is $41,250.

“Both Centennial and Gainesway believe that Corinthian can develop into the next upper-echelon stallion in Kentucky,” said Don Little, Jr. “He has settled well into his new career at Gainesway and has been supported by many of the top owners and breeders throughout the world. Mares in foal to Corinthian sold for an average of more than four-times his stud fee at Keeneland November and we feel his reputation will only be enhanced in the coming years.”

Carrying foal bred on same lines as Curlin

Madame Thor is a regally-bred daughter of Deputy Minister that carried the Darley colors in her racing career.

Madame Thor is out of the graded-stakes winning Broad Brush mare Broad Dynamite, a three-time winner at two that competed in stakes races throughout her juvenile campaign.

The second dam of Madame Thor is Subtle Raise, a half-sister to Very Subtle, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Sprint over colts.

This mare is also carrying a colt by Smart Strike bred on the identical Deputy Minister cross that produced Curlin, the richest racehorse in North American racing history.

Mare is a half to six stakes winners

Union Creek is from a deep Farish/Lane’s End family that rates as impressive as any in the stud book.

Union Creek is out of the legendary broodmare Battle Creek Girl, arguably the most successful broodmare of the modern era, as she has produced 15 separate winners on the racetrack, the most by any mare in North America since the 1930s. Equally impressive is that of her 15 winners, six scored in stakes events. Battle Creek Girl’s offspring include Wavering Girl, a champion two-year-old filly in Canada and the dam of Grade I winner Military. In addition, Battle Creek Girl has produced three separate graded-stakes winners that are now stallions: Tricky Creek, Parade Ground and Parade Leader.

Battle Creek Girl is also a half-sister to Wings of Grace, a graded-stakes winner on the racetrack that is best known as the dam of Grade I winners Plenty of Grace and Soaring Softly.

Soaring Softly comes from a deep Darby Dan family. On the racetrack, she was the Eclipse Award winning champion turf mare in North America. She captured the Grade I Flower Bowl at Belmont before winning the inaugural running of the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, ending her career with earnings of over $1,200,000.

MYKINDASAINT

Purchased for $290,000 from the 2008 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale carrying a foal by Bluegrass Cat.

Sire Bluegrass Cat

A daughter of Saint Ballado, Mykindasaint was one of the leading two-year-old fillies of 2005, winning her first three races – including two stakes events – by a combined margin of over 13 lengths before running in the prestigious G1-Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park.

She was a consistent stakes performer in 2006 and 2007 before ending her career with five wins – three in stakes races – and earnings of $170,000.

MyKindasaint is currently carrying a foal from the first crop of Bluegrass Cat, winner of the 2007 G1-Haskell Invitational over Hard Spun and Curlin to rank among the best of his generation from a very deep crop.

The foal is bred on similar lines to Tale of Ekati, a multiple Grade I winner that recently defeated older horses in the Cigar Mile. This is also a similar cross to that which produced classic winner and respected sire Harlan.

FEE FI FO FUM

Purchased for $150,000 from the 2008 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Pairing with Corinthian earns an A+ TrueNick

Fee Fi Fo Fum, a daughter of stallion sensation Giant’s Causeway, was recently retired after being campaigned by our trainer Jimmy Jerkens. She displayed tremendous ability on the racetrack, winning her career debut at Gulfstream Park before finishing third in the Grade II Bonnie Miss Stakes.

Fee Fi Fo Fum is out of the mare Pleasant Music, a dual-stakes winner that finished second in the Grade III Calder Breeders’ Cup Handicap.

This mare is an ideal match for Corinthian. The pairing earns an A+ rating through the respected TrueNicks system. This is the same Pulpit/ Storm Cat cross that produced G1 winner Sky Mesa; G2-winner Mini Sermon; and the high-class Phipps runner Parading.
