In 1998, Centennial purchased the broodmare Twenty Eight Carat for $235,000 on behalf of Turtle Hill Farm. She was then resold in 2001 for $4,000,000 at the Keeneland November Mixed Sale.

| Michael Matz
A successful national and international riding career has earned Michael Matz the distinction of being the all-time leading money winning rider and member of the Show Jumping Millionaire's Club with over $1,700,000 earned in prize money.
A three-time Olympian and four-time Pan American Games veteran, Matz has won the U. S. Equestrian Team (USET) Show Jumping Championship a record six times. He earned a Team Silver medal in the Atlanta Games and was also honored by being asked to carry the U.S. flag in the closing ceremonies that same year.
Matz has turned his horsemanship to thoroughbreds in recent years, and has continued his success in the latest endeavor. Matz conditioned 2006 Florida and Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro. He also scored major victories with Kicken Kris, who won the 2004 Arlington Million (GI) and 2003 Secretariat (GI) and is now standing stud in Japan. Matz currently conditions Centennial’s graded-stakes winner Chelokee.
Matz is based at the private Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland, which is regarded as one of the finest facilities in North America for training thoroughbreds. This central location allows Matz to compete at all tracks on the East Coast and in Kentucky. He is a regular presence at all the premier meetings, including Keeneland and Saratoga.
