A striking grey that was known for coming from well off the pace, Rubiano won 13 of 28 lifetime starts for over $1.2 million in earnings.
Rubiano was a three-time Grade 1 winner in New York and 1992 Eclipse Award winner as Champion Sprinter in North America.
Rubiano died on November 19, 2002 at Lane's End near Lexington, KY.
He is best known for producing millionaire Burning Roma, and the graded stakes winning fillies Ruby's Reception, Starry Dreamer and Brulay. |
