The Fountain of Youth - Gulfstream Park

A leading two-year-old of 1997 who would have been one of the favorites in the 1998 Kentucky Derby, this son of Pine Bluff dazzled those who were lucky enough to see him run.

This individual was raced in partnership with Lillian Durst and Ambassador William Farish of Lane's End Farm, where Lil's Lad now stands stud.

Lil's Lad finished second in the 1997 Champagne and Futurity Stakes behind Grand Slam to end his two-year-old campaign.

Lil's Lad began his three-year-old season by winning two allowance races by open lengths before capturing the G2-Fountain of Youth Stakes. He finished first in the G1-Florida Derby in his next race, but was placed second behind Cape Town after a controversial disqualification.

His career ended prematurely due to injury, but he was certainly one of the best from a deep crop of 1998 three-year-olds that included Cape Town, Hallory Hunter, Favorite Trick, Victory Gallop and Coronado's Quest.
